In the Netherlands of the 1920s, Dreverhaven (Decleir), a dreaded bailiff, is found dead, with a knife sticking out of his stomach. The obvious suspect is Jacob Willem Katadreuffe (van Huêt), an ambitious young lawyer who worked his way up from poverty, always managing to overcome Dreverhaven’s personal attacks against him. Katadreuffe was seen leaving Dreverhaven’s office on the afternoon of the murder. Further practical experiments are discontinued. 1931: A group of scientists under the guidance of Alexej Zabrenko, who has been nominated for the Nobel Prize, have determined the cause of the failures. Many more people have to live in a bigger area and have to be provided with free time, varied activities and an educational system to succesfully realize the project. The Kremlin declines funding the project due to the cost. 1933: The situation becomes more urgent. Hitler is in power in Germany and the danger of a new war is more present than ever before. In addition, Afghanistan has been well known as significant source of opium, further more, has recently turned out attractive crossing of the trading. Besides, Mafias in developed countries, deal with drugs made of narcotics, they are of course public enemy. On the other hand, terrorists in developing countries, are cultivating opium for making narcotics, they are also enemy of peace. Therefore I assume the series of the battles between America & European countries and Iraq & Afghanistan are, in fact, conflicts between consumption side and supply side of the drugs on new stage. Someone says, “We at least fight against terrorists, we are not coward”. But it is obvious that the “fight” isn’t for peace and progress of human and nations. It is for mere price and providing of the drugs. And we know soldier’s bodies have been returned in the coffins to their families, but we should wonder at the same time who earns evil money. What we can resist inhumane current of global issue is not to buy such drugs. I’m sorry to preach.
